Unschoolers’ Gallery
Open every day of the conference, the gallery is a casual meeting place where people can gather for informal chats, to meet friends, or just relax. For the first time this year, our Teen Art Gallery will also be held here! Art supplies will be provided for teens during designated times, and their finished artwork can be displayed in the gallery for the rest of the week.
Family Fun Night
Kick off the week and connect with friends with an evening of games, music, and dancing. There will be ice breakers, face painting, a hair spray booth, balloon animals, and more!
Fairy Godparents
Fairy Godparents is a reciprocal game played for the duration of the conference. Participants will be secretly assigned a fairy godchild and a fairy godparent, and spend the week doing things to make their fairy godchild feel special. Fairy godparents can choose to remain anonymous, or reveal themselves at the end of the week. Signups will be held on Monday afternoon, during registration and name pickups will be during Family Fun Night.
Secret Society of Unschooling Dads (SSUDS)
The Secret Society of Unschooling Dads, or SSUDS, is a no-holds-barred safe place where men can ask questions and discuss concerns, breakthroughs, and ideas about their unschooling journey.
Music Jams
Bring your own instruments, display your musical talents, and jam with fellow musicians. All ages and all levels of musical talent are welcome.
Cosplay Day
We’re dedicating an entire day to cosplay, and all attendees are welcome to participate and dress as their favorite characters. Don’t forget to check out the official Cosplay Contest! Register for the Cosplay contest here.
Kids’ Marketplace
Kids can bring their handmade or gently-used wares to buy and sell in our annual kids’ marketplace. No pre-registration is required, and tables will be provided. Please keep in mind that no food sales of any kind are permitted.
Movie Night
Two family-friendly movies will be shown in the ballrooms. This year we are adding a third fun interactive family movie event!
Henna Fun Night
Join us for an evening of Mehndi, the application of henna as a form of temporary skin decoration. Henna and temporary tattoos will be provided. Movie Night will be held concurrently in an adjoining room, to ensure that kids and parents can easily stay in contact.
Talent Show
Kids and adults alike are welcome to showcase their talents at our annual Talent Show. All talents are welcome, but advance signup is required. Sign ups will be held from 8:00 to 9:00 PM on Tuesday.
Family Dance
Give a week of fun a proper sendoff with a night of music and lights at our annual family-friendly dance, hosted once again by unschooling dad and professional DJ Dennis Wolf.
