Wednesday is Cosplay Day! All UWG attendees are invited to dress as their favorite characters. The fabulous Cosplay Contest will take place at 12:00 PM that day. Participants must register in advance. The registration form is at the bottom of this page.
We’ve made a few small changes for this year’s event. The 2023 contest will be organized by fandom types:
- Anime/Manga/Other Animated Character
- Live Action Character from TV show or Movie
- Video Game Character
- Literary/Historical Character
- Original Character (an OC that you created!)
All ages are invited to enter. You can participate as a group, an individual entry, or both. Submit one registration for the entire group. If you want to do both a group and an individual entry, there should be one registration for the group and then come back and fill out the form again for your individual entry.
A winner from each category will be selected, and additional prizes will be awarded for judge’s choice and people’s choice. Even if you’re not entering in the contest, please come and support everyone who is competing and vote for your favorite!
Judging will be done on a point basis. The scoring will be based on the following items:
- Accuracy of costume (or originality, for OCs) <– all those details that bring your character to life
- Technical difficulty of costume <– did you hand craft parts of your costume? Sewing, painting, etc?
- Quality of cosplay <– the overall presentation
- Creativity <– judges like to reward effort and thought put into cosplay entries!
- Bonus points for acting/speaking as your character during judging!
